A MESSAGE FROM SWAMI VEDA

PHOENIX IN HAITI:

Nature dismantles what She has created as an invitation to us to re-create, reconstruct. In Haiti She has dismantled so that we may take Her invitation and go and rebuild.

If anyone has lost even a wink of sleep imagining a hungry baby on the breast of a mother dead in the earthquake, let him/her regain that wink of sleep by offering even one milk bottle. Drop by drop the buckets fill; bucket by bucket we make reservoirs.

I only have hope and not despair. I believe and envision that this dismantling has occurred so that Haiti may rise as a phoenix and I believe that now Haiti will rise as a prosperous democracy of a people who are happy and in comfort. Imagine what that nation will be like even by 2020 with all the efforts now already going into rebuilding and giving hope to those who for now seem to have lost all hope.

To all the members of the AHYMSIN family, may I request that in your next personal meditation sitting and in the next group meditation, do offer a prayer to Divine Mother that the people of Haiti will regenerate themselves with the power of these offerings.

Also do not forget (if it took you one minute to read this) the TEN   children who just DIED of HUNGER in all parts of the world while you were reading this message.

May Mother Nature inspire our wisdom and compassion.

Swami Veda was one of nearly 50 spiritual delegates participating in the “Addressing Climate Change By Awakening to Oneness” gathering of World Spiritual Leaders for the COP15-The United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen (www.COP-15.dk), organized by the Global Peace Initiative of Women (www.gpiw.org).  The spiritual delegates have gathered here to create a positive, spiritual energy field during these important discussions.

The gathering’s focus was:

How climate change poses an unprecedented challenge and opportunity for the human community.  Much will depend on how we respond over the next few years.  We cannot afford to leave these decisions to governments and business interests.  Too much is at stake.  What is perhaps most greatly needed is the guidance of our spiritual traditions, the wisdom and the love that comes from deep prayer and contemplative practice.  Throughout our time together we will seek to access this inner spiritual guidance, leaving time for silence and communion.  Climate change, more than any other issue, has the potential to unite us as a human community.  It also has the potential to divide us.  We will succeed in responding to the unfolding climate scenarios only if we are able to tap into that which unifies so that we can come to know more deeply our Oneness, the underlying source from which all life is drawn.

Swami Veda Bharati’s message upon the Opening:

“Humanity does not face many problems all the problems are facets of the same single one.  It is the lack of full understanding what human fulfilment is the contemplatives get a sense of fullness from within themselves.  Others seek fulfilment by conquest and gathering of objects.  This results in few people over-milking of the cow called the Earth.  This results in the unitary problem of faux wealth, poverty and hunger, wars.

We would not be taking form the Earth 137% of what the Earth could produce if we found an inner fulfilment through contemplation and meditation because then we would declare the Spirit’s independence from material objects and our ethics would be “I shall not desire what I do not need” and “I shall not exploit the Earth or the people beyond what she and they can produce. “

This shall be because “I have found fullness within me so that no emptiness needs to be filled with over acquisition of material goods.”

The economy that this will produce will not be a volatile one with peaks and valleys, but a median and a stable one leading to a greater sense of security among the citizens.“
