The Meditation Center of The Himalayan Yoga Tradition invites you to transform your life. Through meditation and yoga, you will reduce your stress, enhance your focus and sense of purpose, and experience transformational growth. The Meditation Center is located in the northeast Minneapolis artists' district and offers meditation and yoga classes for all age groups and stages of meditative practice. Students are taught in small groups by experienced instructors and are given personal, one-on-one attention.

The Meditation Center of The Himalayan Yoga Tradition welcomes people of every race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, creed, religious background, ability, and disability.

The Meditation Center was founded nearly 50 years ago by Swami Veda Bharati, a spiritual teacher recognized throughout the world. Swami Veda remains an active volunteer teacher with The Meditation Center today; as does Swami Ritavan Bharati who is also a highly trained and experienced yoga and meditation teacher. Their inspiration comes from the teaching and guidance of Swami Rama of The Himalayas. The guidance of these senior teachers is supplemented by numerous other male and female teachers, who volunteer their time and expertise, in order to share what they have attained with others.

The Himalayan Tradition of Yoga Meditation is distinguished in that it is the most comprehensive and the most all-inclusive of the major meditative traditions. Himalayan yoga includes breath awareness, repetition of the mantra (sound), postures, Kundalini breathing, and more.

For nearly 50 years The Meditation Center has been a guide and resource for the Twin Cities yoga community using the unique philosophy and science of Raja Yoga (the royal path known also as the 8-limbed path of yoga).  This system of yoga has helped many achieve contentment, more harmonious relationships, and refinement of personality, health, and well-being.
